A Division 1 strength coach in our collaborative group once asked legendary strength and performance master Louie Simmons what he thought about our plans for building a strength training system utilizing Eddy currents in magnetic resistance. Louie replied, “I want the first one that’s built and I don’t care how much it costs.”
Depth - The capability to go into an incredibly effective deficit dead lift without back strain or spinal compression as the resistance is gravity-free, pure invisible magnetic resistance.
Con - Training movements utilizing concentric muscular contractions only. Pure speed with force increasing throughout the movement the harder you push, the greater the resistance. The user never gains any advantage with momentum. Incredibly intense, yet comfortable to perform, without the effects of DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness).
2 - Two way resistance. When the user does, for example, a dead lift, they must drive their hips down on the descent against the magnetic field. The carnage bars are counter-weighted, (no gravity in play) and won’t go downward without the user forcing them down. Not like a trap bar with weight plates that, due to gravity, want to go down and the user controls the force eccentrically/a negative into the ground.
Breakthrough with the DepthCon2 requiring driving force into the ground, which is the missing link in training as running, jumping, planting and cutting require driving and absorbing force into the ground, not just controlling force into the ground with conventional squats, dead lifts, etc.
Continuing with the example of driving force in to the ground, at the bottom of the descent, the user will then apply force into the ground to explode upward against the ever increasing magnetic force resistance. Technically speaking, then, the user is working agonist and antagonist muscle groups at the same time.
All this translates into feeling lighter in the hips and on your feet, more power in sprinting and cutting, jumping higher, without the need for recovery. What we constantly have is “I feel better connected and don’t have to bend my knees as much.”
